Even though Neil Diamond is a world superstar who has sold 125-million albums and penned 36 Top 40 hits, the singer has never had a number one debut or even a number one album in the U-S, that is, until now. Diamond’s latest record, Home Before Dark, will top next week’s Billboard Top 200 chart after selling nearly 146-thousand copies. The disc is also Neil’s 46th to appear on the Top 200 chart and his 15th that made it to the top ten. Diamond’s last effort, 12 Songs, was his previous highest-charting debut. That album came in at number four. Neil is heading out on the road to promote Home Before Dark.
