Boston is gearing up for a national summer tour and one person who is really excited about it is their lead singer, Tommy DeCarlo. That’s because this time last year, DeCarlo was working as a credit manager at a Charlotte Home Depot. In the wake of late-vocalist Brad Delp’s suicide, the band discovered DeCarlo through MySpace and, even though the 43-year-old has never been in a band, hired him. DeCarlo told USA Today, “I never could have dreamed this. That first gig is going to be something.” Boston’s Tom Scholz is impressed with DeCarlo, explaining, “During rehearsals, it can get downright eerie. I forget it’s not Brad. It makes me feel like someone was at work up there.” Boston kick off their tour on June 6th in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
