Robert Plant: No Led Zeppelin Tour

Robert Plant has confirmed there will be no Led Zeppelin tour — or at least, he’s not planning on one (“Not for me but I can’t speak for anyone else,” he told the U.K.’s Daily Express). After news broke that Zep would reunite with Jason Bonham on drums for November 26th’s Ahmet Ertegun tribute at London’s O2 Arena, the inevitable speculation began that the band would follow up the gig with a tour — the fervor for tickets to their one-off gig shut down two Web sites affiliated with the show, and 20 million fans applied for a chance to nab tickets. “We need to do one last great show, because we’ve done some shows and they’ve been crap,” Plant told Express. The Zeppelin frontman went on to say that he worries the touring life doesn’t suit him now that he’s getting older. “When I do come back from touring I’m shocked to find a lot of my mates tend to be going to bed far too early and that means I should probably be doing the same. Maybe I should stop having a good time and get old.” |
