Rush rocked the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday night, treating fans to a three-hour-plus performance. The band took the stage shortly after 8 PM and opened with “Limelight,” then played many air guitar and air drum-friendly favorites like “Freewill,” “Red Barchetta,” “Dreamline,” “The Spirit of Radio,” “Tom Sawyer” and a lot more. The Canadian trio kicked off the second set with five tunes off their latest album, Snakes and Arrows, before launching into fan favorite “Subdivisions.” Guitarist Alex Lifeson, bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee and drummer Neil Peart also pleased the crowd with the nine-minute opus “Natural Science,” “Witch Hunt,” the “2112: Overture,” and “The Temples of Syrinx.” The group ended with a three song encore that featured “One Little Victory,” “A Passage To Bangkok” and their classic instrumental “YYZ.” Rush is out on the road until their tour wraps up on July 22nd in Alpharetta, Georgia.
