K103 Make-A-Wish Radiothon
K103 has been working with Make-A-Wish for more than a decade, each year stepping up our efforts to maximize fundraising for this very special organization. In 2010, K103 continued our location partnership with Washington Square Mall, with K103's Morning Show; Bruce Murdock, John Erickson and Dana Jeffries broadcasting live on site from 5am until 7pm. Several celebrity guests helped answer the phones including, KEX's Paul Linnmann, KPTV's Jamie Wilson, Deb Knapp of KATU, The Blazer Dancers and Blaze himself!
K103 listeners generously donated more than $47,000 and 507,000 in airline miles.

Clear Channel Radio Portland Honored by Susan G. Komen for the Cure
The Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure recently recognized dedicated sponsors, donors, fundraisers and volunteers at it's annual Partner Appreciation and Awards Ceremony. The Komen affiliate honored Clear Channel Radio Portland by presenting them with the “Corporate Partner of the Year” award. For over a decade, Clear Channel Radio has provided extensive promotional support to the organization for major events such as Komen Portland Race for the Cure. The award acknowledges the radio group’s sustained efforts in aiding the organization by enabling them to help save lives and end breast cancer.

The 2010 DoveLewis Calendar
In 2009, five Clear Channel Portland stations (K103, Oldies 106.7, Z100, 1190 KEX and 620 AM KPOJ) ran an online contest asking listeners to submit photos of their pets for their chance to win a professional photo shoot and a page in the 2010 DoveLewis Calender. Five winners have their pets proudly displayed in the Calendar and our reatil partners, Powell's Books and Bridgeport Village sold the calendar. 100% of the proceeds went to benefit DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital
$9,000 has been raised so far, more than triple the 2008 Calendar Sales.

Schoolhouse Supplies Celebrity Spelling Bee
K103 was the official radio sponsor for Schoolhouse Supplies Celebrity Spelling Bee for the third consecutive year. K103 promoted the event beginning the week of December 21st, 2009 through the date of the Bee, February 5th. A combination of live and pre-recorded on-air mentions were used to drive awareness as well as online support including a custom splash page at keyword "Bee" and inclusion in weekly eblasts.
K103 Morning Show Co-Host, John Erickson, Emceed the event that raised more than $184,000.

The KEX Kids Fund Pledge Drive
1190 KEX held an 18 hour radio-thon over four days to benefit The KEX Kids Fund starting on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th and ending on Tuesday, December 1st. KEX listeners gave generously to help Kids in need of vision and hearing aid.
The 2009 pledge drive raised more than $94,000.

Oldies 106.7 Providence Child Center Radio-thon
On December 4th and 5th of 2009, Oldies 106.7 broadcasted live from the Providence Festival of Trees to raise money for the Providence Child Center's Opportunties of Joy Radiothon. The radio-thon helped to create awareness of the services offered at Providence Child Center, increased the annual giving program and introduced the "Guardian Angel" program to the public.
The 2009 radiothon raised more than $41,000.
