I have loved radio since I was a little girl: music, talk, sports, and Casey Kasem- I listened to it all. I used to keep a scrap book of all my favorite artists… especially Michael Jackson. I’d wait anxiously by the radio during the American Top 40 countdown for any of his songs!
When I was in high school, I was on the microphone every morning doing the announcements for the whole school. I loved it. I also sang in the choir… but don’t ask me to sing now… unless its karoke… Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing is my favorite. It’s the first rock song I ever sang thanks to my Uncle Tony!
I dreamt of being on the air for many years and before going into radio I did a ton of things- got a Bachelor’s in History from Cal State Los Angeles, taught preschool, and managed a Starbucks. A few years ago an old Portland DJ “discovered” me working at his local Toyota dealership in Southern California. And now I’m here… in the City of Roses.
(Funny, I grew up near Pasadena… the other city of roses… just not as pretty!)
Now in Portland, here is a list of my new found loves… I love producing the morning show, I love being creative and having fun on my Saturday show. I love getting phone calls and emails from listeners so keep them coming! I also love being a part of the Portland community. Roxy and Ginger (my 2 dogs) thank all of you who have made us feel so welcome here.
