Oscar bound baby!
Now that the writers strike is over... the date has been saved, the invitations sent and now, here comes the RED CARPET.
It's the ACADEMY AWARDS- the granddaddy of award shows. Yes, you know I love all this stuff. I'm the one who would throw the annual Oscar party every year and sit and watch the Red Carpet in awe while talking trash with all my girlfriends.
My girlfriends are sad because there's no party this year. But I'm not sad... in fact, I'm overjoyed I'm not throwing an Oscar party this year.
Guess what??? The plane ticket is bought... I'm covering all the glitz and glamour of the OSCARS! Yes... little ol' me there with George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Cate Blanchett, ALL THE BIG STARS! Seriously... the excitement is bubbling over! I had the opportunity to cover the big event 2 years ago and when George Clooney was literally 10 feet away from me... I froze! Got tongue tied and couldn't ask him a question! Geez, his debonair ways caught me off guard.
I can't promise to not be star struck this year! All the biggies are coming out to celebrate the Oscars. Got a question you want me to ask backstage or to a particular actor? Email me and let me know. If I get the chance to ask it... I will!
More with me on the Academy Awards daily...
I will have a feature for you everyday on the air about the Academy Awards... so be sure to tune in.
Then, Sunday, I will call in to the Rock and Roll Cafe for the pre-Oscar party and give the scoop from the red carpet!
Finally, Monday I will be on the air with Dave- giving him all the drama and flair of the Oscars!
Yahoo... hooray for Hollywood! I'm there at the Oscars 2008!

American Idol... the Chosen Ones... the Top 24
The CHOSEN ONES... the Top 24.
Yes, you know I’m a fan… and sometimes I just don’t get enough time on air to share all my thoughts on Idol. Sometimes I need to vent… so you are the lucky ones to hear it!
Last Tuesday night I was WOWED with Ryan Seacreast’s hosting abilities and his ever so funny flair for the drama. (okay, not really!) He noted that this was a “HISTORICAL” Hollywood audition… really… Historical, Ryan??? Geez, drama queen!
So about the instruments…liked it. Some were fantastic performances. I especially liked Brooke White, the first one on the show who played the keyboards. Just a cool sound… reminded me of that movie Coyote Ugly! Now about the second chances… after not getting past the judges initially, some got to sing a few notes Acapella to impress the judges. Do I like this new aspect? Nope. To me, it’s just a way for American Idol to prolong the inevitable… if you weren’t good, get off the stage! Buh, bye!
Well, I will be keeping my eye on Oregonian Kristi Lee Cook. (She made it through on the second chance… lucky)
Here are my predictions for the top 12…all the people who get the most air time! If American Idol is going to your hometown to film you and your family, chances are… you’re in!
AND OVER THE WEEKEND... American Idol SCANDAL... Some of the new 24 have actually been signed to record deals... and drumroll please... didn't make it! Carly (Hennessy) Smithson, the Dubliner cut a record with MCA. Michael John signed with Madonna's Maverick records with his band and our own Kristy Lee Cook was signed to Brit Brits label.
I'm not so mad about the fact that they have had record deals, I just think its sneaky that we have to find out this dirt from ruthless internet bloggers with nothing else to do with their time than become private detectives. If its not against the rules to have had a deal, then just come with the truth to begin with. It might make the contestant more endearing to the audience, don't you think? So much for the "amateur" competition...
This is all for today… check back in next week for more of my ridiculous rantings on American Idol…
PS... from now on American Idol will be text languaged into simply, AI. (That's me being too lazy to type it each time!)

Waterfalls GALORE Oregon is known for having the most amazing, beautiful waterfalls. I finally got to experience Multnomah and Latourell (and a few of the smaller ones) and WOW! Gorgeous! Spectacular! What more can I say...
Okay... so there's alot more I can say. First, a funny story. So Dave invites me to go hiking considering he lives in the Gorge. So I make the drive and wouldn't you believe it, I get iced in! Even if I wanted to go home... I couldn't because the roads were iced! So to make the most of the day, we went hiking anyway. Luckily, we were able to hike our...

Super Sales on Superbowl Ahhh, yes superbowl Sunday a day I tend to eat too many pretzels, drink to much beer and yell at the TV incessantly! It’s great! But perhaps instead of adding to my waistline and waste my time in front of the tube I should grab some girlfriends and go shopping.
